Welcome to the Redwood Hollow Cottages in La Jolla, California
Redwood Hollow is a registered San Diego Historic Site consisting of a total of eleven cottages and duplex homes in a lush garden setting. Eight cottages are now operated as a small hotel, and three are private residences. Many of our cottages include a full kitchen, queen-sized or king-sized bed in the bedroom(s) and a sleep sofa in the living or sitting area. The units range from studios, one bedroom, up to two bedroom, two bath cottages. Six of the units have fireplaces, and six are lined with redwood or cedar. The architecture is in the craftsman and mountain style cottage, which was popular at Southern California beach resorts early in the twentieth century.
Eight Historic Cottages.
Redwood Hollow Cottages was registered as a historical site by the San Diego Historical society in 1997 with an analysis of the property prepared by Historical Consultant, Alexander D. Bevil. Construction was started in 1915, with the last structure completed in the late 1940s. This charming property is an oasis of peaceful greenery that still preserves the unique garden atmosphere of old La Jolla. Located within walking distance of everything La Jolla has to offer with multiple beaches reachable within minutes on foot.
